Accessories for riding breeches – what do I need?
Belts and socks are accessories that are directly associated with breeches. Why you need them and which care products are suitable for the care of your breeches, can be read here.
Belt to match the breeches:
A belt is not only recommended as a fashion accessory, but also to help with minor fitting problems at the waist. Belts made of genuine leather or imitation leather can be relatively stiff and sometimes even cut in uncomfortably when riding. For riders, an elastic version made of stretch material is more suitable.
Socks to match the breeches:
Riding socks are an essential part of riding wear and they are particularly important in combination with breeches. While you can wear shorter socks with jodhpur breeches, you should use knee socks with breeches. This makes them easier to get into and also ensures that sweat is absorbed by the socks. For summer, particularly light and thin socks are perfect to ensure breathability. For winter, socks with a percentage of merino wool are ideal because they are not too thick, but at the same time have an optimal thermal effect. Merino wool is also odourless and quick-drying.
Suitable care products for breeches:
Functional materials, such as those used for breeches, require special care. We explain in our FAQ section what you should pay attention to when washing. Choosing the right detergent is one of the basic requirements. A mild detergent for functional and sports textiles is usually the best choice. They preserve the properties of the fabrics without sticking to the fibres and gently remove bad odours. Before washing, make sure that coarse soiling and animal hair are removed with a brush to protect the washing machine.
