How do magnetic boots work on horses?
Magnetic boots are equipped with permanent magnets that are used for tendon injuries, bone injuries, arthrosis or problems with lymphatic flow. In the case of an injury, the cells of the impaired muscles are no longer able to transport oxygen and nutrients sufficiently or to remove harmful substances. The permanent magnets in the boots support the cells in their function by means of magnetic impulses, stimulate their microcirculation and promote blood flow. Improved blood circulation and unimpeded lymphatic flow promote faster recovery.
If you would like more detailed information about the effects of magnetic boots and other therapeutic boots, please take a look at our guide on therapy and regeneration.
Some magnetic boots can be worn for longer periods of time and can therefore also be used as stable boots. At Kramer Equestrian, you can buy Felix Bühler magnetic boots for both the cannon bone and the hock as hock protectors.

When are compression bandages for horses useful?
Compression bandages are compression stockings for horses and have the same effect as for humans. They exert pressure on the vessels, compress them and allow the vascular valves to close and open better. This promotes fluid transport, such as the removal of lymphatic fluid with toxins.
Compression bandages are suitable for horses prone to swollen legs or recovering from oedema after blunt trauma. The accumulation of fluid leads to uncomfortable tightness, which can be relieved if drainage is encouraged. This is where the use of compression bandages can be useful.
Compression bandages should fit the horse correctly so that they do not shift, but also so that they do not exert too much pressure. For this reason, we have compression bandages for horses in different sizes within our range.
