Is there a difference between thermal breeches and winter breeches?
Our winter breeches for women are the perfect solution for the cold days in the stable and are worn like normal breeches. Soft shell in particular has proven to be the most suitable material for this purpose. It is windproof, water, dirt repellent and breathable. Moisture is wicked to the outside so that the body does not cool down or the fabric sticks annoyingly to the skin. A textured inside ensures a pleasant climate for the body.
Thickly padded thermal overtrousers, which are usually pulled over normal breeches, are suitable for particularly icy days. With their bulky polyester filling, they provide extra insulation. Ideally, thermal overtrousers, like winter breeches, also have a leather or imitation leather seat. Visually, there is hardly any difference between winter breeches and thermal breeches for women and the classic full-seat and knee-patch breeches. Both winter and thermal breeches are often equipped with reflective piping, which is very important for visibility during the dark season.
Which breeches keep you really warm in winter?
Thermal overtrousers for women provide maximum warmth and are the best choice for icy days at the stable. They are worn over the normal breeches. With their different types of inner lining, they protect the legs from cold wind and damp cold moisture. Soft shell jodhpurs in particular have proven their worth in the thermal version, as soft shell with its diverse properties is perfect for the cold winter days in the stable. In our shop you have a wide selection of different winter breeches that will make every winter ride a pure pleasure.
What characteristics should winter breeches have?
winter breeches are bought mainly for their warming properties, but they should not be too thick, which restricts the rider's freedom of movement. Winter is often characterised by damp cold, which is why a good pair of thermal breeches should at least be water and wind-repellent. Since the rider moves a lot when working in the stable or riding, the breeches should wick away moisture to the outside and ensure a comfortable body climate. All our thermal breeches for women are breathable so that you don't start sweating despite the cold.
The breeches should be cosy and warm thanks to a fleecy interior that captures and retains body heat. The thermal overtrousers in our shop are both easy to care for and hard-wearing, so that you can enjoy them for a long time. To make them more comfortable to wear, our thermal styles are not too thick so that you are not limited in your mobility. Some of our thermal overtrousers have zips at the leg hems and the waistband is adjustable so you can customise your breeches.
How do I wash my winter breeches?
The care of thermal breeches is simple. Most thermal breeches have a wind and water-repellent surface, so frequent washing is unnecessary. Light dirt can be easily wiped off with a wet cloth. This way you can protect your thermal breeches.
Always follow the manufacturer's care instructions. As with other breeches, wash your thermal breeches inside out at 30 degrees. Do not use fabric softeners and do not tumble dry or iron the breeches. Lay the washed, still wet thermal breeches on the floor on a towel to dry. This way, you will be able to enjoy your thermal breeches for many winters to come.
