What are the advantages of riding leggings?
The biggest advantage of riding leggings is their high wearing comfort and their adaptation to almost every type of figure. Due to their stretch material, they fit like a second skin and thus form barely any wrinkles, if any at all. The riding leggings have no pinching seams, annoying buttons or zips. Instead of a constricting waistband, these are flexible and do not stick out, unlike regular riding breeches. Those who like to ride with riding boots will welcome the elasticated ankle cuffs without Velcro. The breathable, lightweight material and the mobile phone pocket on the thigh make the riding leggings a perfect pair of breeches in summer. Due to the lightness of the fabric, riding leggings are usually only available with grip seat in either full-seat or knee-patch variants. Riding leggings without a seat are not recommended, as they do not allow for a relaxed riding position due to slipping back and forth. Therefore, you can only buy riding leggings with grip seat in our shop.
What is the difference between breeches and riding leggings?
Breeches are often made of a stronger material, have belt pockets at the waistband, and a button and zip. Most breeches have only one or no pockets, which are also very small. Riding leggings, on the other hand, are made of a stretch material with a high elastic waistband. Buttons, zips, Velcro fasteners or belt pockets are therefore redundant. Thanks to their perfect fit, there are almost no wrinkles, which makes them extremely comfortable to wear. In addition, many riding leggings have a large mobile phone pocket that is located on the thigh, which means that the mobile phone does not get in the way when riding. Unlike breeches, riding leggings do not have such a wide variety in styles and seats: Riding leggings for women can mainly be bought with full-seat grip or knee patches.
Which riding leggings are suitable in winter?
There are winter breeches or thermal ridding leggings with a fluffy inside for winter. They keep you warm without being bulky or restricting the rider's freedom of movement. Thermal riding leggings combine the advantages of light leggings with those of warm winter breeches. In our Kramer Equestrian Shop you will find Grip Thermal Breeches from Felix Bühler and Equilibre, which retain body heat on particularly cold days thanks to their textured inside and thus ensure a cosy feeling when worn.
What material is used for thermal riding leggings?
Unlike riding leggings for summer, thermal leggings for riders have a denser fabric and usually a soft inner fleece or textured inside. The inner lining keeps body heat from dissipating and thus provides additional warmth. The outer fabric is a breathable stretch material that does not restrict the rider's movement while riding or working in the stable. Our winter riding leggings from Kramer Equestrian not only keep you warm, but also give you an excellent fit thanks to their 4-way stretch material.
Are all riding leggings high waisted?
Riding leggings for women are mainly available with a high waist. This is due to the extremely stretchy material. To ensure that the leggings can adapt to the body perfectly and do not slip at the same time, our online shop only sells riding leggings for women with a high waist. This way, we can guarantee you the best possible wearing comfort.
How can riding leggings be washed?
As with all sports textiles, the same applies when washing riding leggings: less is often more. Only wash your riding leggings when it is really necessary and only put them in the washing machine with a washing net so as not to overstress the material. Set a maximum temperature of 30°C and use a mild detergent for sports textiles. Never use fabric softener, as this will destroy the fibres of your riding leggings. Air dry your leggings gently instead of putting them in the dryer.
