FOR WHOM ARE JODPHUR BOOTS SUITABLE?

Jodhpur boots with half chaps are the more casual alternative to long riding boots. Ankle-high Jodhpur boots are best suited for a casual training session and for those who do not want the expense of long riding boots. For riders wearing Jodhpurs, Jodhpur boots are also the number one choice. This is why they are also called Jodhpur boots. Unlike long riding boots, Jodhpur boots are more flexible to wear because they can be worn not only when riding but also when working at the yard. As they do not sit so tightly on the leg, they are particularly comfortable.
At Kramer Equestrian you have a wide selection of pull-on Jodhpur boots, lace-up Jodhpur boots and Jodhpur boots with zips. There are also waterproof Jodhpur boots that keep you nice and warm thanks to teddy fleece and are ideal for frosty winter days.

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF JODHPUR BOOTS?

Jodhpur boots are the cheaper alternative to long riding boots, but fulfil the same purpose: to give the rider support, a stable leg and ankle. They score with

  • flexibility,
  • airy comfort,
  • grip soles and riding-specific heels, as well as
  • sturdy pull straps for quick on and off

WHAT SHOULD YOU LOOK FOR WHEN BUYING JODPHUR BOOTS?

When buying Jodhpur boots, you should make sure that they fit perfectly. They should not constrict your foot, but at the same time they should not slip off your foot when you sit in the saddle. You can use our size charts to find the best fit for you.
The quality of the upper material and the sole should also be considered when buying. The outer material should be robust to ensure longevity. That is why our Jodhpur boots are made of high-quality leather, such as full-grain cowhide on the outside and soft pigskin on the inside. However, the robust and easy-care SYLKA synthetic leather is also used in our Jodhpur boots. If you wear your Jodhpur boots to work in the yard, you need soles that will not be damaged by contact with ammonia. That is why the soles of our Jodhpur boots are made of durable PU.
Do you like to slip into boots with elastic inserts or do you prefer lacesfor individual adjustment? You should also consider this when buying your Jodhpur boots. In addition to elastic inserts and laces, these shoes are also available with zips.

WHICH JODHPUR BOOTS ARE SUITABLE FOR WINTER?

Lined Jodhpur boots are suitable for winter. These are equipped with cosy teddy fleece and keep the feet nice and warm. For even more insulation on the sole, we recommend fluffy insoles or heat insoles. In addition, Jodhpur boots for winter should have a non-slip sole with a good grip, so that the walk through the snowy yard does not turn into a slippery slope.
Because of the higher thermal insulation of the shoes, you should choose your winter Jodhpur boots one size larger. That way there is still room for fluffy winter socks.

WHICH WINTER JODPHUR BOOTS ARE AVAILABLE?

At Kramer Equestrian you can buy winter Jodhpur boots from STEEDS and Felix Bühler. They are either made of easy-care and robust upper material (polyurethane) or soft SYLKA, which is lined with fluffy teddy fleece. Our Felix Bühler models feature high-quality leather paired with genuine warming sheepskin. You can choose between versions for narrow and wide feet. To get you through the long day at the yard, our Felix Bühler winter Jodhpur boots are equipped with an extremely comfortable footbed for the best cushioning properties. As with the summer version of our Jodhpur boots, you can choose between a zip, lacing and elastic inserts.

WHICH JODHPUR BOOTS ARE LINED?

Many of our Jodhpur boots styles are available in both summer and winter versions. In our winter riding boots & Jodhpur boots you will find a wide selection of teddy fleece or sheepskin lined boots for riding and for the yard. Felix Bühler and STEEDS offer lined Jodhpur boots for every taste and every budget.
Our range also includes lined winter half-chaps so that your calves don't have to freeze.

WHY SHOULD JODPHUR BOOTS BE WORN WITH CHAPS?

Half-chaps prevent the calf from rubbing against the saddle flap and skin from getting caught between the saddle and the stirrup leathers. Half-chaps are usually made of leather or imitation leather, which provides good adhesion to the saddle even when wet. If you were to ride without half-chaps, your legs would not have enough grip on the horse with just riding socks and breeches.
To choose the right half-chaps for your size, measure your calf height and circumference. Compare your measurements with our size charts. Half-chaps are pulled over the shoe and secured behind the calf with a zip and press stud.
