Product Description

Complementary feed for horses

Optimum supply of all essential vitamins, minerals and trace elements for gestating and lactating mares. Especially while the mare is carrying the foal, it is important to keep an eye on the mother's mineral supply, as a deficiency can affect not only the mare herself, but also the foetus in the womb. A great deal of protein and calcium is required for the foal's growth in order to enable the formation of muscles, bones and organs. In the last trimester of pregnancy, a warmblood foal grows by more than 7 times its original weight. As a result, the mother's energy, protein and nutrient requirements increase rapidly. The trace element copper also plays an important role in the foal's growth. If this is not supplied to the gestating mare in sufficient doses, it can lead to skeletal formation disorders in the joints, which can later result in OCD bone chips at a young age and have to be surgically repaired. Selenium also plays an important role in the supply of trace elements. It ensures the foal's vitality. Foals that are deficient in selenium often suffer from muscle disorders at birth and drink poorly or not at all, which can result in intensive medical care. After foaling, the broodmare's need for energy and protein increases again significantly in order to ensure sufficient milk production during the lactation period. After all, milk is the newborn foal's only and therefore most important source of nutrients at the beginning. We deliberately avoid cereals and molasses in our formulation, making the vitamin and mineral supplement suitable for all breeds. The vitamin and mineral supplement is pelleted for optimum feed acceptance.
