When is a safety headcollar suitable?
Safety head collars are made of a lightweight, synthetic webbing material without metal fittings that could cause injury. The headcollar can be easily secured to the horse's head with a Velcro fastener and then lies close to the horse's head. In an emergency situation, for example if the horse panics, the Velcro fastener can be undone and the horse freed. A safety headcollar is particularly suitable for horses in a field or paddock that can easily remove their headcollar. A safety headcollar is not suitable for leading or for tying. For this purpose, stable headcollars made of nylon or leather headcollars are the better choice.
There are also safety headcollars with reflective stripes. These can be used for walkers in the evening to increase safety through better visibility.
In our shop you will find additional safety tether ties that break or loosen the tie rope more quickly in the event of a panic situation. This prevents the horse from injuring its neck.
