Product Description
Large double saddle bag made of waterproof and hard-wearing PVC material. Easy to attach to trekking saddles or western saddles thanks to numerous straps with snap fasteners. Lid fastening and drawstring offer protection against dirt and moisture. Use only as a pair and load equally. 40 x 25 x 14 cm. Volume (pair) approx. 30 l. Max. Packing weight per bag 6 kg.
Instructions: First make sure that the horse's rear rump is completely covered by an extra long cut trekking saddle pad (e.g. item 183 050), a pad or a rolled wool blanket, sheep or reindeer skin to avoid chafing on the horses coat during long treks. Fill both bags equally (max. 6 kg per bag) to avoid one-sided overloading and to help the horse balance. The volume of the bags can then be compressed using the straps that run along the front of the bags. Use the straps with the cross point in the middle and the 4 buckles to connect the two bags at the back of the cover. Place the cross point on the horse's back so that the two bags hang down on the left and right. Now attach the belly strap. This is fixed to the saddle bags with the two large buckles on the underside and hooked into the eyelet of the saddle girth with a clip. It must be individually adjusted to the horse's abdominal girth and must not sag. Similar to the girth itself, it may need to be tightened during the course of the ride once the pack has settled. Now use the small straps with one-sided buckle to fix the bags to the girth straps and to prevent the bags from jumping up and down during faster gaits. To do this, the buckle is attached to the side of the bags at the bottom and the loop on the other side of the straps is pushed through the girth straps. For long treks in particular, we recommend that the bags are additionally fixed to the saddle with our pack straps (item 182 254). For this purpose, several plastic eyelets are attached to the bag covers, which can be used individually - depending on the saddle model and possible means of attachment to the saddle. By tightening with the additional packing straps, it should be ensured that the bags do not lie on or behind the 18th lumbar vertebra.
